Yeovil-based Brimsmore Gardens is among the Garden Centre Association’s (GCA) Wales & West regional award-winners once again this year, picking up first place and a Certificate of Merit in the Environmental Opportunities category. Brimsmore Gardens’ latest award follows the GCA’s round of unannounced annual inspections earlier in the year and recognise the continuous improvements made at the centre in areas relating to its environmental impact on the wider community. The vivid orange Scarce Chaser dragonfly, Libellula fulva has been sighted in Wimborne’s Knoll Gardens. This is the first recorded sighting of the year in Dorset and south Hampshire of this distinctive dragonfly which was last spotted at Knoll in 2012. Full story: Read more
The recent spell of good weather has put visitors in the mood for gardening, and tickets for The Bishop’s Palace English Country Garden Festival have been selling fast! This will be the second Garden Festival held at the Palace and the event is due to be opened on Friday 12th June by top gardener Roy Lancaster, of Gardener’s World and Gardener’s Question Time fame.
