Free training for ‘compost champions’

SWP Compost Champions 02If you know a thing or two about composting, thousands of people in Somerset need your advice, and there is a free course coming up soon to help you share your skills. The training day on Saturday 28 March is part of the Compost Champions scheme, in which a network of volunteers spread their know-how to friends, neighbours and their community. Supported by the Carymoor Environmental Trust eco-education charity, dozens of Compost Champions across Somerset help gardeners make the most of garden waste and certain foods. Full story: Read more

Kelways Duo of Grand Pavilion Exhibits Gains Momentum

Paeonia-Lollipop-(3)Kelways Plants, one of the oldest nurseries in the UK who have been exhibiting at RHS shows since 1880 are preparing for their greatest duo of exhibits at the Chelsea Flower Show ever. They will cover over 60m2 of that hallowed turf in the Grand Pavilion. Best known for their peonies, Kelways 2015 exhibit will showcase some of the more recent hybrids of the Intersectional Group. These wonderful plants, crosses between tree peonies and herbaceous peonies, have lustrous green foliage, a neat bushy habit and large blooms in an extraordinary range of colours.
