Free Taster Sessions, a young rider rebate of 50%, and a chance to practice slow riding skills will be offered to all local riders by Somerset Advanced Motorcyclists (SAM) at their group’s stand at the 2017 Bristol Classic Bike Show over the weekend of February 4th & 5th.
A free taster session of advanced riding will be offered to all local riders during 2017. The session will last for approximately 1 hour on local roads with a rider being followed by one of the Advanced group’s Observers (coaches) who will give feedback at the end of their riding style compared with the standard required to achieve a pass at the Advanced level.
The group will also be promoting their special offering to young riders, under the age of 26, – a 50% rebate off the cost of an Advanced Riding Course. There is never a better time to learn Advanced Riding Skills than when you are young because new skills come very easily and quickly before bad habits develop. Holding an Advanced Rider licence can reduce the cost of insurance over many years. The SAM group’s rebate means that the net cost to young riders is only £75, which is money extremely well spent.
Finally the motorcycle group will be promoting their Slow Riding Skills days, which occur 2 to 3 times each year, the next one being held on Sunday May 21st at Bridgwater & Taunton College. Riders will have the opportunity to use the group’s own slow riding training bike to practice and develop their slow riding skills on a course set up on a safe area at the college.
