Festive Music and Carols Among the Christmas Trees in Glastonbury

Glastonbury Male Voice Choir is busy rehearsing a full programme of Christmas music ready for the Christmas Concert & Carols at St John’s Church Glastonbury on Wednesday 16th December at 8.00pm. This has become a very popular sell out occasion in Glastonbury as it combines an opportunity to be entertained by the choir signing some wonderful Christmas music with carols for the whole congregation. This year John’s church will be a visual delight with a large number of Christmas trees each decorated by local organizations.

The choir is also performing at Clark’s Village Street on Sunday 20th Dec at 12.00 noon helping the Martha Care Christmas Collection.

The choir membership is over 40 strong and growing steadily.  We sing a wide range of music ranging from modern popular music to some more traditional  pieces. Our rehearsals are great fun and under the guidance of our Musical Director Tracey Hansford we gain an enormous amount of satisfaction from learning new pieces.  We frequently surprise ourselves by the quality of our harmonies and the way they blend to achieve such a great sound. It is this spine tingling phenomenon that helps to make singing in a choir so enjoyable.

January marks the start of our rehearsals of our popular and classical songs ready for our main concert season through the spring and summer. This makes it an excellent time for anyone interested in joining the choir to come along to Glastonbury Town Hall on Tuesday evening at 7.45pm to see how they like singing in a choir. This is an open invitation and is completely free.
