Ferne Animal Sanctuary in Wambrook, Chard, Somerset is seeking local support and volunteers for their hugely popular “Family Fun Day”. Taking place on Wednesday 30th July from 11am until 4pm this event always attracts a huge crowd and is a fantastic day out for the whole family.
Sharon Pavey, Event Administrator said: “Stalls are now available for local crafters and artisans to book. The Sanctuary would also love to hear from any local clubs who would like to do a demonstration on the day – for example martial arts or dance groups, or canine agility clubs. The Sanctuary relies on their dedicated volunteers, staff and supporters to ensure all their events are successful and lots of fun. They need help to make this the biggest and best Family Fun Day yet!
“As well as welcoming new volunteers to help on the day, the charity – which has been in existence for 75 years – needs donations of books and raffle prizes. Nearer the date, donations of plants and cakes will also be gratefully received. All these items can be dropped off at the Sanctuary near Chard, or at one of Ferne’s charity shops in either Chard or Bridport, making sure staff know that any items are for the event.
“Family tickets for the day are a bargain, at only £5 for up to two adults and three children, £2 for a single adult and £1 for a single child, it’s an event not to be missed!”
