Fairmead School choir from Yeovil proved they were a Christmas number one hit when they entertained staff and visitors today at South Somerset District Council’s Brympton Way offices.
The choir sang a variety of Christmas songs for 45 minutes in the main reception and were joined by staff from the district council who listened to them during their performance.
Alison Taylor, Acting Deputy Head at Fairmead School said, “The children really enjoyed signing to the council staff at the SSDC offices today and the audience were fantastic. The choir members were glad that they were able to spread some Christmas cheer this time of the year”.
Councillor Ric Pallister who arranged the visit by the school added, “This has been a great opportunity to showcase the School and the amazing achievements that the staff and students make in preparing a very special group of youngsters for a world beyond school. I never fail to be humbled by their achievements because you can see on their faces just how much they strive to get that “personal best” time after time. Giving our staff and those visiting the offices the chance to be a part of this wonderful lead up to Christmas has been a privilege and I am grateful that they found the opportunity to visit us. The students are drawn from across South Somerset and their singing today was magnificent and made me very proud of them all and the dedicated staff”.
