Yeovil’s Super Saturday comes to Yeovil Town Centre on 26 September, bringing live music, market stalls and plenty of fun activities for children. South Somerset District Council and Yeovil Town Council have seized the opportunity to collaborate on the organisation of exciting events in Yeovil Town Centre. Super Saturday kicks off at 10am and will finish at 4pm. There will be a flower and gardeners market which will be complemented by the monthly farmer’s market at nearby Middle Street. Museum of Somerset Collections Inspire South West Artists
The Museum of Somerset’s outstanding collections have been providing South West artists with the inspiration behind two upcoming exhibitions in Taunton. Opening on Saturday 10 October, The South West Textile Group’s exhibition is titled ‘Imprints’, with 35 members showing work across a range of techniques including stitching, quilting, felting, weaving, printing, dyeing and mixed media. Some of the museum’s stand-out objects provided inspiration, including the Roman Low Ham mosaic, which depicts a tragic love story, and the Frome Hoard, the second largest collection of Roman coins ever discovered in Britain. Norton-sub-Hamdon Village Festival 9th-11th October
Norton-sub-Hamdon is proud to announce that it is hosting a village festival during harvest, 9th-11th October. There will be plenty of activities for everyone to enjoy, including a village scarecrow trail, an in the Reading Room, a re-enactment of an historic horse ride, family film night, a concert by the Parnham Voices, floral displays and exhibits with refreshments, promenade performances in the village church and a village feast. All culminating in a special service in the church with our benefice choir and guest preacher. Something for everyone to enjoy. This is a real village community event to which all are invited.
