GMVC Formal pubGlastonbury Male Voice Choir is busy rehearsing a full programme of Christmas music ready for the Christmas Concert & Carols at St John’s Church Glastonbury on Wednesday 16th December at 8.00pm. This has become a very popular sell out occasion in Glastonbury as it combines an opportunity to be entertained by the choir signing some wonderful Christmas music with carols for the whole congregation. The butcher, the baker, the candlestick maker… Artisans gather for charity Christmas Fair

IMG_6603With everything from sizzling sausages and celebration cakes to beeswax candles and handmade crafts, The Queens Arms’ ever popular Christmas Fair will return to Corton Denham, Somerset, on Saturday 5 December from 10am-4pm. Offering a unique selection of seasonal supplies from local producers and makers, the Christmas Fair raises much needed funds for The Guide Dogs for the Blind Association, with stallholders donating prizes for a charity raffle at the end of the day. Full story: Read more

Castle Cary Artist Angela Knapp to exhibit at charity land, sea & sky event

Angela Knapp and Sue Milverton with one of Angela's textile pieces - CopyWELL-KNOWN textile artist Angela Knapp from Castle Cary will be exhibiting at a charity event in aid of the National Kidney Federation early next month (December, 2015). Angela, who specialises in creating unique images of birds, will be at the award-winning Clavelshay Barn Restaurant for its Land, Sea and Sky Exhibition on Monday, December 7. She explained: “I’m delighted to have been invited to take part in this event.
