The Maiden Newton at War Committee presented the four groups that helped manage last year’s event with cheques at a presentation evening on Friday 10th May. The four groups received a share of the profit with £4000 each going to St. Mary’s Church, the Junior Football Club and the Friends of Maiden Newton Play Area and the Friends of Greenford School received a cheque for £4500 in recognition of their additional costs in providing part of the venue. Children have cracking time at Easter egg-stravaganza
Approximately 560 children took part in the Easter egg-stravaganza egg trail at Ninesprings on Wednesday 10 April organised by Friends of Yeovil Country Park and South Somerset District Council. Children participated in the Easter egg trail into the woods to find letters that spelt out ‘Happy Easter’ to win an Easter egg. The ∏ mile marked trail took the excited children into the woods where they had to find the letters which were placed amongst spring themed items such as rubber ducks/chicks, large nests and a willow shelter. Omega and Alpha set for world premiere at Wells Cathedral | This is Somerset
A Castle Cary composer is preparing for “the proudest moment of his career” when his musical masterpiece is unveiled to the world on Saturday. Martin Emslie, 57, of Alford has written an 80-minute composition telling the Biblical Easter story, culminating in Jesus’s resurrection.
