September, with its history of the Battle of Britain, is a very special month for RAFA. Pursuing our need to raise funds to provide welfare for current and former members of the RAF and their dependents, a host of willing and polite people will be collecting house to house in the area in and around Sturminster Newton in the first two weeks of the month. At the same time we have been asked to represent RAFA at the Waterloo Show and Military Fair to be held on the Earl of Shaftesbury’s Estate at Wimborne St Giles on Sunday 15th September from 9.00am to 6.00pm. It will be very large event with The Blades formation aerobatic team, massed military bands and pipes and drums, the Kings Troop, Royal Artillery, White Helmets motorcycle display, Red Devils parachute demonstration, Royal Navy action field guns, the Military Wives Choir, static military displays, clay shooting and many, many more attractions. It will be a great day out for the whole family.
