The Blackmore Vale Lions organised another successful charity fundraising event on the weekend of the 7th and 8th March. The 28th Swimarathon was held once again at Clayesmore School Sports Centre and 156 swimmers of all ages took part. They made up 27 teams (nominally six to a team) who swam in relay for 55 minutes achieving a total distance of 82 kilometres. Full story: Read more
Somerset Tourism Literature Exchange
Over 40 tourist attractions will gather at South Somerset District Council’s free tourism literature exchange on Tuesday 17 March. The event which is hosted by SSDC’s Economic Development Team will take place at Haynes International Motor Museum between 10am and 12:30pm. If you run a pub, café, restaurant, accommodation or Tourist Information service, come along to the Literature Exchange and collect supplies of tourist attraction leaflets to give to your visitors. CALLING ALL YOUNG ARTISTS FOR ‘STEP IN STONE’ SCULPTURE DESIGN COMPETITION
This summer’s exciting art project, ‘step in stone’, is offering young, budding artists an opportunity to exhibit their work alongside international artists. If you are under 20 years old and interested in art and design, the step in stone sculpture design competition is a chance to show your talents.
