Crafty Kids at Somerset Animal Sanctuary

Matilda Glaubitz aged 2 from Ilminster gluing crafty bits to her egg picture (1)Hobbycraft from Newton Abbott in Devon recently supported a craft weekend for kids at Ferne Animal Sanctuary near Chard, Somerset. As part of their Easter Eggstravaganza, the creative weekend was a first for Ferne and introduced over 100 local children into the world of crafts. A huge range of materials were donated by Hobbycraft, enabling the children to glue, stick and paint numerous creations. These included making animal masks, foam Easter baskets, decorated Easter egg pictures and Easter cards. Even more fun was had learning how to use glass painting kits, pompoms and pipe cleaners. Pressure Builds at Kelways Plants for RHS Chelsea 2015

Kelways 2012 (9)Its just 8 weeks to go until the 2015 Chelsea Flower opens its doors to the world. In a sleepy corner of Somerset, Kelways Plants is humming. With over 23,000 plants being contract grown for 7 Main Avenue and Fresh Show Gardens, and many thousands of others ready for last minute additions and trade stands, the nursery is overflowing with plants. Gary House, Kelways Nursery Manager and his youthful yet experienced team of local staff have the 18th May firmly ingrained in their heads. AN INVITATION TO VE DAY VETERANS

The Royal British Legion will join the nation in marking the 70th anniversary of Victory in Europe Day (VE Day) over the weekend of 8-10 May.
