The South West Heritage Trust will be holding three events as part of the 2016 Festival of Archaeology. Co-ordinated by the Council for British Archaeology, the festival offers hundreds of events nationwide, organised by museums, heritage organisations, universities, and local societies. Learners from Yeovil College have shown their film about the Westland World Helicopter Speed Record – Westland ONE – to a public audience for the first time. It was watched by former Westland staff and local business leaders at Yeovil College and received great praise. Ferne Animal Sanctuary has thrown down the gauntlet to Primary School children in Somerset to see just how green their fingers are by growing the tallest sunflower. To help them on their way, Otter Nurseries are generously providing Ferne with free packets of sunflower seeds to give away to schools who’d like to take part. Full story: Read more
