Groundbreaking agreement aims to provide a major boost for sport in Wells

Mendip District CouncilA major new outdoor sports campus could be established in Wells thanks to a groundbreaking agreement between Mendip District Council and leading sports clubs in the city. Mendip District Council’s Cabinet is due to consider the proposals at its meeting on Monday 11th November. If approved, the site, on land between the A371 and Elm Close in Haybridge, would see new, modern sports facilities established for a number of local outdoor clubs, including the varied activities at Wells Sports Club, such as football, tennis, netball and archery, and Wells Rugby Club. Bruton School for Girls Art ExhibitionBruton School for Girls is holding an art exhibition to showcase the artwork created by its students, as part of Somerset Arts Week. The Bruton School for Girls Art Exhibition will run until Saturday 5th October and includes an inspiring selection of drawings, paintings, photography, textiles and mixed media. As well artworks created by current students under the guidance of the Art Design and Technology teachers, Brian Wyatt and Jess La Trobe Bateman, the exhibition also features the work of former pupils.
