A group of students from Sherborne Girls in Dorset will be heading to Bristol within the next couple of weeks to bring a little touch of festive magic to three Kids Company centres, founded by its inspirational former pupil, Camila Batmanghelidjh. The students, who are each head of Year 10 in their boarding houses, have raised money for the Christmas decorations by holding a Mufti day, and have chosen themes for each of the rooms. SCHOOL GIRLS WALK 10K FOR EDUCATION CHARITY
Students and staff from Bruton School for Girls took part in a 10k sponsored ‘World Wide Walk’ through the Somerset countryside on Friday 11th October to support girls who are denied access to education. A total of 88 girls, accompanied by teachers, the headmistress and three dogs, walked to raise money and awareness for the International Day of the Girl. The walk took the girls on a circular route around Wyke over fields and styles. They completed the 10k within three hours returning to school in time for a well-deserved hot lunch.
