YEOVIL’S UNIVERSITY LAUNCHES ANNIVERSARY ALUMNI

Photo 2Later this month, the University Centre Yeovil will be launching its own Alumni as part of tenth anniversary celebrations. Since it opened in April 2004, more than 3000 people have graduated from the University Centre, boosting their career opportunities with Honours and Master’s degrees, HNC/Ds and many other professional and Higher Education qualifications. Sport at Bruton School for Girls

Football 2 (s)With the ever growing success of Women’s football in the country, Bruton School for Girls in Somerset,  has recently teamed up with Yeovil Town Football Club to deliver an exciting new initiative. Coach Ollie Landers, took on the challenge in a 10 week long programme, designed to introduce girls to the basics, this course focuses on developing the girls’ skills and enthusiasm alike. South Somerset pupils’ posters win food waste challenge

SWP AD poster South 2 Green ElliottPrimary pupils Billy Green and Harriett Elliott have proved their powers of persuasion by being picked as overall winner and a runner-up respectively in a contest to help Somerset families recycle food waste into clean green power. Billy and Harriett, both aged 9 from Preston Primary School in Yeovil, were among thousands of children from all over the county who were invited to design posters promoting recycling through Somerset’s new Anaerobic Digestion (AD) facility and its billions of “burping bacteria”.
