On Wednesday, teachers and youth leaders met to cut the cake to celebrate the launch of the BIG Ideas Challenge. BIG Ideas Challenge is a ready-made programme that will help young people to link every day activities such as saving energy and water, or fixing their clothes, to: the science of cutting emissions, the history and geography of access to resources, and the politics of social justice and climate change. A Level Joy for Chilton Cantelo School
This year’s students carried on the School’s tradition of achieving strong results with a 93% overall pass rate. 29% of all grades were A*/A, outperforming the national rate of 25.9%, and 36% of grades were A* to B. The school gained an increase of over 17% in the A*- B grades range from last year. Particular congratulations go to top-scoring Louis Mustin for achieving an A* in Further Maths and an A in Maths, Physics and Philosophy. Full story: Read more
YEOVIL COLLEGE ATHLETES REPRESENT COUNTY
Two Yeovil College students have represented Somerset at the English Schools Athletics Association (ESAA) Championships at Gateshead International Stadium. Brett Harrison (17) of South Petherton (200m) and Jordan Davies (18) of Sherborne (shot putt and Senior Boys Captain) train with Yeovil College’s Athletics Academy and with their external clubs. They combine their training with a Level 3 Sports course and A Level programme at Yeovil College, respectively.
