This year’s Somerset Chamber of Commerce AGM will take place on Wednesday 26th November at the Holiday Inn in Taunton. The annual event provides an opportunity to celebrate the year’s successes and network with influential business people from across the county.
The short AGM agenda, which lasts around 15 minutes, will include an update on Somerset Chamber activity over the past 12 months, presentation of the annual accounts, and the election of two new directors to the board. Led by Chairman Graham Knight, it will be the final AGM for Rupert Cox, CEO of the Somerset Chamber, who will be leaving at Christmas.
A two-course hot buffet meal will be provided, followed by a talk from guest speaker the Bishop of Bath & Wells, Rt Revd Peter Hancock, who has a particular interest in Somerset’s economy and business fortunes. He will speak about the important role that strong, healthy and growing businesses have in our society.
Michael Eavis CBE, President of the Somerset Chamber, will present long service certificates to members who have achieved 10 years of continuous Chamber membership.
The AGM is a popular occasion in the Somerset Chamber events calendar, regularly attracting over 60 business people for an evening of celebration and networking.
The Somerset Chamber of Commerce is one of only five accredited Chambers in the South West and 52 in the whole of the UK. It is the fastest growing Chamber in the British Chambers of Commerce (BCC) network and works closely with the BCC to make sure Somerset businesses stay well connected at both a local and national level, and that the voices of the Somerset business community are heard at all levels of government.
