Free training sessions are being held in Mendip next month to help local businesses discover the power of social media. The four events, which will take place in Frome, Wells, Street and Nunney, are being run by Get up to Speed as part of the Connecting Devon and Somerset project and will demonstrate the effectiveness of social media and the importance of having an online presence when running a successful business. Government apprenticeship plans must be part of a long term strategy
The Somerset Chamber has welcomed the government’s plans to increase the number of quality apprenticeships and give businesses a say on how they are run, as outlined today (21st August) by the Prime Minister, David Cameron. The Chamber CEO warned, however, that this must form part of a long term strategy rather than being a quick-fix for youth unemployment. South Somerset Community Energy share issue hits £100,000!
In its first share offer – to raise capital to fit solar panels to Westfield Academy and the Abbey Community Association’s community hall – South Somerset Community Energy has now had applications passing the £100,000 mark!
