Intrepid wildlife presenter Steve Backshall has been travelling the globe filming incredible deadly animals in their natural habitats, but on Tuesday, June 11th at 11am he will be facing a brand new test when he visits the Deadly Challenge at Longleat Safari & Adventure Park.
The star of the BBC’s hugely popular Deadly-branded programmes will officially unveil the Wiltshire wildlife attraction’s latest new attraction based on the popular TV series.
As part of the event, Steve will take on a group of local schoolchildren from Leigh-on-Mendip First School to see how they compare to the Deadly presenter himself.
Located next to the park’s Adventure Castle, Deadly Challenge is made up of six themed zones focussing on different animals’ deadly abilities– the Venom Zone, the Power Zone, the Superpower Zone, Agility Zone, Ambush zone and the Speed Zone.
Steve Backshall said: “I’m really looking forward to pitting my wits against the local schoolchildren down at the Deadly Challenge next week. It’ll be the first time that I’ve seen the Challenge since the construction has been completed which is very exciting.
It’s a really fun adventure which involves taking part in a series of physical and trivia challenges based on the skills of some amazing and deadly animals. It will hopefully give people who take part an idea of some of the incredible skills these animals possess.”
Deadly Challenge is the latest addition to Deadly Adventure at Longleat, a four year partnership with BBC Worldwide, which transforms areas of the park in the style of the BBC’s Deadly shows which include Deadly 60; Deadly Top 10s; Deadly 360; Deadly Art and most recently Deadly Mission Madagascar as seen on CBBC.
