From hanging thousands of baubles and labelling boxfuls of ornaments to building partition walls and painting festive scenes, Louise Burks, director of The Gardens Group, and her team are preparing for the centres’ much-anticipated and award-winning Christmas displays, which will be unveiled at a number of special open evenings throughout October.
Speculation is already building, but as always this year’s themes will be kept tightly under wraps right up until the big reveal. It won’t be long though until gardeners of all ages will be able wander through these magical wonderlands, which promise to feature meandering displays, twinkling lights and festive food and drink, to get everyone in the Christmas spirit.
Christmas display open evenings:
Poundbury Gardens, Dorchester – Tuesday 4 October
Brimsmore Gardens, Yeovil – Tuesday 11 October
Castle Gardens, Sherborne – Wednesday 19 October
The Gardens Group has won the Garden Centre Association’s Best Christmas Display Award six times in the past seven years, and the team are hoping for more success this year.
