Since the Shape Mendip Lottery’s first draw on Saturday 25 March 2017 there have already been 97 winners with two lucky players scooping themselves £2,000 each.
Other winners have received £250 and £25 prizes or free tickets for the next draw.
There were also five lucky winners in a special one off raffle which ran alongside the first draw. One of these raffles prizes, a Fusion Lifestyle family membership for one year, kindly donated by Fusion Lifestyle, was won by David Paterson from Wookey.
Mr Paterson said: “I’m delighted to have won this prize and am happy to be able to support The Mill Stream Villages Association and other good causes through purchasing tickets for this lottery. It’s a great idea which I would encourage others to sign up to so they can lend their support to a cause which is important to them.”
So far 35 good causes have signed up to the Shape Mendip Lottery and all are active across the district benefitting the local community.
Donna Nolan, deputy chief executive for Mendip District Council, said; “In the two months that our lottery has been running it has already raised over £16,500 for local good causes and it looks set to hit the £60,000 target in its first year. I would like to thank everyone who has bought a ticket or signed up to be a good cause for supporting this great project. Without your contributions this lottery wouldn’t be possible.“
